instruction to get you started. Class participation will be
encouraged. Small assignments will get you familiar with the
basic concepts of camera functions, as well as how to read
light and simple composition rules. Brian's straight forward
teaching style will show you how to understand the basics
in a way that will give you the knowledge you need to shoot
more confidently.
Week 1 - Camera Functionality: Learn how your camera
works as well as how to evaluate and meter light. You will

lighting situation.

to understand the relationship between aperture and shutter
speed, and how to manipulate these to make a better photograph.

out the practical applications to controlling depth-of-field
and composing a scene in your viewfinder. You will learn what
to look for and how to avoid common mistakes. You will have
a hands-on opportunity in the studio to put your knowledge
to work.
Week 4 - Review & Share Photographs: This class
will focus on what you have learned in the previous weeks.
This will be an opportunity to bring in the photographs you
